Strange News - Jogger Mauled by Angry Raccoons
9:00AM October 2, 2012

A Lakewood, Washington, woman received more than 100 scratches, bites and other injuries when she was attacked by a group of masked bandits on Monday. Twenty-eight-year-old Michaela Lee's attackers weren't people, but rather a pack of raccoons that chased after the jogger, apparently in retaliation for Lee's dog scaring a mama raccoon and her babies up a tree.

"As I was bending down, I saw them coming through the grass," she told KING-TV while showing off her wounds. "You wouldn't believe how fast raccoons can run...I felt like they were hunting me, [a] 'taking me down' pack mentality."

Lee ran for her life, with at least five raccoons chasing her. "They tripped me, they jumped on me, were biting me. It's kind of surreal. The kind of thing you'd see in a movie."

Lee's dog Madison managed to scare the masked animals away. "I think she literally saved my face," said Lee, who managed to make it to a neighbor's house to safety.
