Local Event Cancellations and Postponements

Several local events have been canceled or postpones and businesses are announcing closures due to the rapidly evolving situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

CANCELED OR POSTPONED EVENTS

  • The Special Olympics of South Carolina has canceled the Charleston/Dorchester Spring Games which were scheduled for March 18th..
  • The North Charleston POPS! “Pops in Space” concert scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center is postponed. The concert is rescheduled for Saturday, May 23.
  • Volvo Car Open tennis tournament on Daniel Island has been canceled. The event was supposed to take place April 4-12.
  • Baby Shark Live! performance at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center has been postponed.
  • The Charleston Electrical Contractors Association’s Electrician Competition has been postponed to approximately some time next month.
  • The S.C. Commission for Minority Affairs’ Hemp Farming Workshop scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at SC State University has been canceled.
  • Cirque Du Soleil summer performances in Columbia and North Charleston are canceled.
  • Kane Brown concert postponed, rescheduled for October 1.
  • Black Expo 2020 scheduled for Saturday, March 14 has been postponed.
  • The 48th annual Summerville Family YMCA Flowertown Festival has been rescheduled and will now take place on September 4, 5 and 6, 2020.
  • The April 4th Cooper River Bridge Run will be rescheduled to August 1st, 2020.
  • The South Carolina Aquarium is closed through March 31st.
  • Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historic Parks will close until further notice.
  • All recreational programs in North Charleston are suspended, and facilities are closed.
  • Riverfront Park is closed and park events to be rescheduled to a later date.
  • North Charleston Arts Fest and the Children’s Festival are canceled.
  • Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band concert scheduled for April 16 at North Charleston Coliseum rescheduled for June 11.
  • Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is closed until further notice.
  • T3 Entertainment Birthday Bash featuring NBA Youngboy scheduled for March 28 in Columbia has been postponed.
  • Avett Brothers Concert – Postponed – Scheduled for April 3rd, no new date announced
  • Carolina Cup – Canceled Scheduled March 28th
  • CATS – Postponed – Scheduled March 27-29th, no new date announced
  • Charleston Air Expo – Canceled – Scheduled for April 18th-19th
  • Charleston Battery – Suspended – USL suspended all Battery games for at least 30 days
  • Charleston Jazz Expo Mi Alma Latina – Canceled – Scheduled for March 14, new date is July 25, 2020
  • Charleston Music Hall (All Events in March) – Postponed
  • Charleston Riverdogs – Suspended – MLB has suspended Opening Day until further notice.
  • Cher Concert – Postponed – Scheduled for March 20th , changed to Sept. 12th.
  • Dig South Tech Summit – Postponed – Scheduled for April 24th-26th, new date is July 22-24 at Charleston Gaillard Center.
  • High Water Festival – Canceled – Scheduled for April 18th-19th.
  • Jennifer Nettles Concert – Canceled – Scheduled for April 14th.
  • Lauren Daigle Concert – Postponed – Scheduled for March 19th, new date is August 17th.
  • Mandy Moore Concert – Postponed – Scheduled for March 31, no new date announced.
  • NEEDTOBREATHE Classic – Postponed – Scheduled for March 30th, new date is October with finalized dates to come later.
  • NCAA: Clemson, South Carolina – Canceled – NCAA announced to cancel all winter and spring sports.
  • South Carolina National Parks – Closed
  • South Carolina Stingrays – Canceled – ECHL canceled the 2019-2020 season.
  • Yes – Canceled – Scheduled for March 19th, no new date announced.
  • Broadway Musical A BRONX TALE scheduled for April 24-26 at the North Charleston PAC – Cancelled
  • Thomas Rhett at Volvo Car Stadium on 06/18 has been rescheduled to 7/15
